More At Four is a pre-kindergarten program created to provide 4-year-olds with high-quality educational experiences. This part-day program offers children a specific curriculum and preschool experience to enhance their school readiness.
According to the Office of the Governor, standards are built on the premise that in order to achieve academic success, children need preparation in all five of the major domains of development outlined by the National Education Goals Panel (www.governor.state.nc.us) Each domain is critical to a child's well-being in addition to being successful students in reading and math. The five domains are:
• Health and physical development
• Social and emotional development
• Language development and communication
• Cognition and general knowledge
• Approaches toward learning
